I shall now refer to my impending engagement (ha) as the Rock Files, since much like that UFO tv show of a billion years ago (the X Files), this engagement is shrouded in lots of mystery.
I spent this weekend with my little sister here in the Tulsa area. She is moving to West Virginia on April 15. She found out her date on Friday. Needless to say, it came as a shock. Not that she was moving, but that it was so soon. Some tears were shed. We shopped a lot of Saturday, discussed the future (how our parents would/would not cope), and just enjoyed the company of one another. We weren't that close in high school, but our age as again made us the best of friends. When you start to get older, I think that you are reminded of heritage and background. Stephanie and I are 13 months apart, and for the first time in our lives, we will live more than a day's car ride apart. Some may never know it, but this kind of information can be quite devastating. The past 4 years has really strengthened our relationship, especially with the separation and divorce of our parents. It's hard to let her go be a grown up. Her big sister isn't there to usher her through her next stage. But I know only great things will come of this! I'm so excited and happy for her. (Hey, maybe she'll attract some super awesome guy who 1. has a job, 2. went to college, and 3. she didn't meet in a bar. Those are the only requirements I have)
On a more positive note, my parents' divorce is final. After 3.5 years of torment (on EVERYONE) it has peacefully ended. Or at least, as peaceful as can be expected. My mother will now be forced to MOVE ON. And Stephanie and I will now be able to return to our sanity. <mass applause here>
In Rock news: No new bling to report. Although, due to upcoming events, some funds will be freed up, funds that could potentially be used in a bling purchase. (July=no more truck payments) As always, I'll keep you informed and updated. :)
